The French Jewish Business Union was created in 1997.

• Because our Judaism is a determining factor of our identity.
• Because our status as company directors and professionals gives us an active role in the economic and social life of our country.
• Because the French Jewish community is again the subject of attacks aimed at its moral and physical integrity.
• Because we must be both French citizens devoted to our country and express our support for the State of Israel.
• Because it is the duty of the French Jewish community to become a true source of proposals to the public authorities.

The French Jewish Business Union - UPJF - was created in 1997 and now has 1,200 subscribing members, the majority of whom are managers of SMEs, two CEO's of corporations listed on the stock market, and independent professionals.

The UPJF's aims are the following:

-1- To become a policy-suggestion body, a contact for the public authorities and the civil society, for subjects such as:

• The fight against anti-Semitism;
• The defense of Israel 's image in France;
• The economic problems faced by company managers;

-2- To fight against disinformation by organizing public relations campaigns, conferences and round tables.

-3- To favor the development of economic ties between French and Israeli SMEs.
Located in Paris , the UPJF is also present in major French cities.

UPJF Marseille opened its doors in April 2005.
Other offices are due to open in 2005 in Nice, Cannes , Lyon, Strasbourg , Bordeaux and Montpellier .
