FRENCH: le Canada a décidé de fermer le Magen David Adom (l'équivalent israélien de la Croix Rouge) et de lui retirer son certificat d'organisme caritatif autorisé a collecter des fonds au Canada.

Le Magen David Adom aide tous les habitants d'Israel, sans distinction de race ni de religion.

Par contre, le Croissant rouge (version musulmane de la Croix Rouge), qui n'aide que les Musulmans du Moyen-Orient, conserve son statut.

Cette décision est clairement une décision politique, et nous devons exprimer notre désaccord la concernant.

Elle est susceptible d'être annulée, si la pression exercée sur le gouvernement canadien est assez forte.

Canada has decided to close its Magen David Adom (Israel Red Cross) off anddecertify this organization as a charity eligible to receive aid from Canadians. Magen David helps people regardless of their religion or ethnic background. On the other hand, the Red Crescent (the Moslem Red Cross) which only helps Muslims in the Middle East, will continue to be a recognized charity by the Canadian government.

This is clearly a political decision and we need to voice our objections to it. The decision can be reversed if enough pressure is put on the Canadian government.
